Food was excellent though was on the price side and the service is second to none. This is definitely an occasional place to eat. Our waiter was a true gentleman, very polite and made sure we were well taken care of. The steak was brilliantly prepared. I would definitely recommend for a special occasion and would go back again.

Went there and had an amazing time.
The location is super convenient for people that are always worried if they can find parking near the restaurant or not. You wont have a killing view tho if you are looking through the window but you will have an excellent customer service allowing you to enjoy the cultural variety that employees give you( the server I had that night spoke in Spanish with me). I particularly liked the way the bring the flood to the table by giving the customer a selection of various steak. The atmosphere is excellent, the variety of wines is beyond perfect, superb food and the music is pleasant..
Well worth a visit for steak lovers! -

We went to Gotham with a large group of people for our friend's Birthday. This was our second time here as we just moved to Vancouver from Chicago and are familiar with a good Steakhouse. We weren't really impressed the first time we came here but decided to give it a second chance.
The ambience here is pretty neat. It does remind me of an old school Steakhouse. With that being said I would say the food is just ok. The steaks dont have much flavor and the sides are typical for an upscale steakhouse. I got a dry aged ribeye and the fat was grisly and the steak itself was chewy and I had to saw through it with my knife. It was medium rare. Bone Marrow was delicious. If you decide to go here definitely order that. Our waiter told us that the sides would have to be paid together as a group which I thought was odd as we all chose a different side with our meal with the intention to share.
The real problem here was what happened when we were ready to pay our bill. We had 10 people at our table. Our bill was 4,000. Thats fine we chose our meals, got our drinks and sides to share. Some of the people at the table needed to leave a little early and we couldn't find our waiter for almost 20 minutes when we were finishing up. We requested our bills. He brought one bill to our table. Most of us planned our meal around paying for ourselves as couples, some people only had a steak and a drink.. Not only did he bring one bill but he brought it to the drunkest person at our table who was a guest for our friend. Then he left again before we could ask for it to be split. We watched him walk past our table several times and he watched us try to figure out how to split a 4,000 bill between us while our drunkest friend proudly said he would pay the whole thing. This lasted for at least another 15 minutes.
When he finally came back we asked him to please split up the bills which he claimed wasn't in the system. What? We manually had to break it down for him so he could go and enter it in that way. All while he just stood over us waiting. He refused to split up the sides for us so that was a seperate bill. I have never dealt with something like this at a restaurant in my entire life. What was supposed to be a great night out with friends turned into major frustration and disappointment. -

5/5 service 5/5 food 3/5 ambiance 3/5 value
Not sure I can add anymore to this page's reviews. It is a solid 4 stars.
One of our clients brought us here-their regular joint. Keep in mind, I am writing this review not having to absorb the 600$ bill for a meal for 4.
Porterhouse, prime rib, NY Steak were all finely made with choicest cut of meat. (We had shared bites.). Addictive-wise is very simple other than the flavours of meat: salt and ground pepper. To deliver, as only a carnivore/meat lover know, such tasty meat is no simple feat.
Ambiance is not much, very typical of NYC steakhouses; dimly lit dark woodsy interior. Location is not stellar; midst of homelessness and international exchange students. The funky side rif raf town.
Value, were I to foot the bill I might have given a lower score. But.... one would expect if one is to pay top dollars one would be in nicer neighbourhoods. Instead of smelling dog or drunks' pee street after street leading to the restaurant. New Yorkers may be used to it, as the town reeks of pee everywhere, here in Vancouver we demand better, no? If you arrive in car/car service; valet would whisk you car away and the doorman would show you into meat-amazingness, very much like in New York.
Overall great dining experience, does live up to the billing. Just look at the latest menu before you attend and prepare for seedy side of town. -

Gotham was my go to place for steak. I book at Gotham on Special occasions, bus meeting, family gathering or celebrating birthdays.
Service - 5/5 amazing
Atmosphere - 5/5 classy perfect for a nice date
Let's dig in!
Gotham was always my go to steak house. However I found that the meat quality has changed quite a bit and I asked the server. The meat was originally was from USA now the meat is from Canada. I was going to order the tomahawk steak but when I saw other table's tomahawk it changed my mind. I find the tomahawk had more fat than I had before.
Porterhouse steak -4/5 - it was cooked to perfection even though in the beginning the steak temperature was wrong they quickly changed it. The tenderloin filet and New York strip steak was cooked to perfection. Lots of flavor and delicious. Reason why I give 4/5 because...
Dried aged bone in New York strip was so much better 5/5 - each bite you can taste the smoky and hickory flavor. It was just simply amazing.
Bone marrow - (make sure you save the bread or order extra bread) - 5/5 - never had bone marrow before. In the beginning it looked a bit greasy but I am telling you it tasted amazing. When you soak the bread to the oil each bit was heaven. Make sure pair it with a full body red to really kick off the flavor.
Brussels sprouts and chorizo hash - 4/5 - it pairs well with the meal. Brussels sprouts were caramelized perfectly. I like the slant biter taste at the end with a good full body red wine.
Field mushroom 3/5 - I was craving for some earthy taste. It didn't have the wow factor that I was looking for.
Gorgonzola Mac & cheese -4/5 - flavor was there but it needed just a touch of seasoning at the end.
Cheese cake 5/5 - plating was phenomenal, cheesecake tasted amazing. It was fluffy and every bite melted in your mouth.
Would I go back again? Yes but won't be as frequent as before due to there are better steak house in the neighborhood area.
